The Initial Conference of the Prevention In Action project, funded
by EU4Health programme, successfully took place on February
22nd in Rome, Italy, bringing together health professionals,
researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to explore
innovative strategies to prevent and manage
Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), with a special focus on
cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
Coordinated by Portuguese Red Cross, the project brings
together Red Cross National Societies from Italy, Spain, Hungary,
and Slovenia, with the aim of raising awareness of the
consequences of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes,
promoting healthy lifestyle habits, and reducing the prevalence
of these diseases across the European Union.
During the event, the project’s main objectives, indicators, and
work plan were officially presented, marking the formal launch
of this collaborative European initiative. The conference also
served as a dynamic platform for sharing best practices,
scientific insights, and joint approaches proposed by experts
and institutional representatives from several countries. This
milestone event laid the groundwork for stronger cooperation
and joint action in addressing one of today’s most pressing
public health challenges.
