PIA Project participates in a solidaritywalk in Coimbra, Portugal

On September 29th, the Prevention in Action (PIA) Project joined forces with the Portuguese Cardiology Foundation to support the “Solidarity Walk for the Heart” in Coimbra, Portugal.

This non-competitive event, open to all ages, was held in solidarity to mark World Heart Day and brought the community together to promote cardiovascular health.

Participants were invited to take part in three organised walks of 5km and 10km, while also engaging in activities designed to raise awareness about heart health.

Throughout the event, visitors had the opportunity to undergo risk assessments and health check-ups, reinforcing the importance of prevention and early detection.

Our Portuguese team was on site to present the PIA Project, share information about our work, and interact with participants.

Many attendees contributed to our flipchart, leaving messages about the activities they do to take care of their health — a wonderful reminder of how committed the community is to protecting their hearts.

A warm thank you to everyone who joined the walk and helped put Prevention in Action on World Heart Day.

Portugal take good care of their hearts!
